WHAT: Bark in the Park
WHO: Heritage Humane Society WHEN: Saturday, April 26, 2008 (9:00am -1:00pm) WHERE: Williamsburg, VA WEBSITE: www.heritagehumanesociety.org CONTACT: Kimberly Thompson at kimberly@midatlanticpugrescue.org if you have items to donate NOTES: Join us at beautiful New Quarter Park (1000 Lakeshead Dr. Williamsburg) Raise money for HHS and win a trip, golf for 4, a day at the spa, boarding for your best friend, gift certificates and more The walk begins at 10:00am. Also visit with our many Rescue Groups, great animal friendly vendors, participate in a cake walk, enter your pet in the various contests, and visit with our HHS dogs up for adoption. Come spend the afternoon with us for food, fun, activities, drawings, and support a great cause at the same time WHAT: K-9 Karnival WHO: Virginia Beach SPCA WHEN: Saturday, May 10, 2008 (10:00am - 3:00pm) WHERE: Redwing Park (General Booth Blvd) Virginia Beach, VA WEBSITE: www.vbgov.com CONTACT: Kimberly Thompson at kimberly@midatlanticpugrescue.org if you have items to donate NOTES: This will be the 17th year of this popular event As in past years, this family event will include a canine disc competition, displays and sales of canine-related products, a Rabies Shot Clinic, and festival foods. The public is invited to bring their dogs, join the competitions, and enjoy the displays and activities. This is a family-oriented event in an alcohol-free environment, free and open to the public, with plenty of onsite parking. Estimated attendance is 4,000 people. WHAT: Paws for a Cause WHO: Peninsula SPCA WHEN: Sunday, May 18, 2008 (noon - 4:00pm) WHERE: Riverview Farm Park (across from Menchville High School) in Newport News, VA WEBSITE: www.peninsulaspca.com CONTACT: Kimberly Thompson at kimberly@midatlanticpugrescue.org if you have items to donate NOTES: The four-hour event is packed with a variety of activities that include the Great American Disc Dog Show, police and bomb dog demonstrations, tail wagging and dog costume contests, demonstrations by local rescue groups, music and, of course, the actual Dog Walk which featured nearly 400 registered walkers and their canine companions in 2007. WHAT: Paw Jam 2008 WHO: PAWS of NC (Pets Are Worth Saving) WHEN: Saturday, June 14, 2008 (11am - 9pm) WHERE: Battleship Park in Wilmington, NC WEBSITE: www.pawjam.net CONTACT: Heather McDougall at heather@maproutreach.com if you have items to donate or are interested in volunteering some time at the booth! NOTES: 7th annual Paw Jam is a benefit concert with live entertainment, pet related vendors, arts & crafts, beef & wine garden, food court and more.
